Item Description

Thulite is the uncommon pink frequently manganian-rich variety of zoisite. This shapely piece is nearly solid sugary, pretty pastel-pink thulite with a quartz vein at the bottom. Specimens from either of the two thulite Washington localities listed by MINDAT are EXTEMELY RARE (they do not feature any photos). The John Albanese label dates from 1953-68 and says Cashmere, Washington. Cashmere is in Chelan County. The two MINDAT localities are in Okanogon and Pend Oreille Counties. Irregardless, this is an extremely rare and desirable Washington example of the species from an East Coast collection. A MUST for the locality or species collector.
