Item Description

This is an intensely-colored Tanzanite crystal of natural hues, which run to deep purple (front) and deep blue (side) depending on which side you look at. It is NOT heat treated to enhance the color as some are (this would change the subtle tones you can see here). It is simply a statuesque, dramatic piece in the size range: This two-inch, lightly striated crystal has outstanding glassy luster and a sharp, interesting, double termination. This most likely represents two tightly intergrown crystals, which is somewhat evident on the backside. There is also a one-inch sidecar crystal evident growing in at an acute angle. The piece is complete all around and only contacted at the bottom where it was removed from the pocket. This is an intensely colored and showy Tanzanite, perfect for a collector looking for an elegant specimen that does not break the bank. No repairs, no restorations. 27.2 grams. Custom base included.
