Zoisite (rare yellow color for the locality)

Item Description

This is a rarely seen soft yellow colored Zoisite gem from Tanzania. Most of you are familiar with Zoisite in its blue variety, Tanzanite, but there are other forms gem grade Zoisite that are not blue, like this stone. You might have seen Tanzanite crystals with small yellow color zones, and this gem was likely cut from one of those crystals. If you view this gem at just the right angle, you can actually see a slight blue hue on the edges (due to the pleochroism of the material), but the stone is predominantly yellow. The gem is virtually eye clean with a "Round Brilliant" cut. A very cool collector's gem that you can pair with a Tanzanite to show the different shades of Zoisite from this locality.
