Item Description
This piece was self-collected by Dave Bergman nearly 40 years ago (early 1980s) on a day trip to St Peters Dome. It features translucent, very sharp, lustrous, clove purple colored crystal of Zircon measuring up to 3 mm associated with other partial Zircon crystals and greenish Epidote(?) in massive Quartz matrix. These are classics from Colorado, and still available to collect along the roadside, if you're so inclined. A great example of these beloved and fairly hard to find Zircons from Colorado. From the collection of Dave Bergman, a Colorado miner (the foreman and primary person in charge of recovering specimens at the famous Sweet Home Mine near Alma, Colorado during the late 1970s) and the maternal grandfather of Brian Kosnar.
