Item Description
When it comes to crystal of Zircon, some of the most well-known examples from the last few decades are the famous red crystals from Astor in Pakistan. Most Zircon crystals you'll find on the market are either fairly small or rather rounded, so when you find a crystal like this, that is remarkably sharp and well-formed, it's a big deal. This piece is a great example of this classic material featuring a very sharp, lustrous, euhedral, tetragonal crystal with a wonderful strong red hue with slight gemminess on the edges when backlit. There is a bit of an unusually white / colorless area around the termination and a red hue along the prism. There are some nicks, so the piece is not perfect, but still an impressive robust red Zircon crystal from years ago. Ex Colin Manlove collection.
