Item Description
Here we a beautiful faceted Zircons from Tanzania. The stone has a lovely rosey-pink hue with a very slight golden-peach overtone, and a brilliant almost metallic quality. The clarity of the stone is excellent and has just breathtaking multi-color flash, which looks best in sunlight! The stone has a "Pear" cut, and when you look at it at a certain angle, you can see the classic birefringence (facet doubling) that Zircon displays in the photo. Zircon is becoming more and more popular among gem collectors and jewelers/gem dealers due to the fact that it occurs in a wide range of colors, plus it has a notably high refractive index and fire with good durability. It's important to note that Zircon is sometimes confused with Cubic Zirconia, which is a lab-grown Diamond simulant, whereas Zircon is a completely natural silicate mineral. This stone would make for an excellent pendant, and would look fabulous in white gold! This gem was cut by Brett Kosnar, a 4-time AGTA Spectrum Award winning gem cutter. The high retail price on this stone is $600.00 Enjoy.
