Zircon is one of the most well-known gems dating back to antiquity. Crystals of Zircon on Earth have been dated back as far as 4.4 billion years, due to the fact that they are so durable and resistant to chemical attack, they can survive in nature almost indefinitely. People in the Middle Ages believed that Zircon could help with sleep, ward off evil, and bring its owners wisdom and prosperity. Please do not confuse Zircon with Cubic Zirconia (sometimes referred to as CZ), as Zircon is completely natural and (zirconium silicate) and CZ is synthetic zirconium dioxide. Zircon is found in virtually every color of the rainbow, and it's durability, good sized stones and its high refractive index and fire make it a great stone for jewelry. This stone is a beautiful natural yellow colored stone with nearly eye-clean clarity and a wonderful "Round Brilliant" cut.
