Zircon

Zircon occurs in a wide range of colors. This stone has somewhat of a subdued golden color, and due to the high refractive index (as high as 2.04), really bounces the light around. It's nearly eye clean with a "Step Oval" cut. You don't see these gems on the market very often, and typically the Sri Lankan Zircons are not often over a carat in weight in my experience. These stones are some of the most attractive "brown" Zircons from anywhere. It's very hard to describe as it seems to appear almost metallic. Nonetheless, the color is very pleasing. A nice gem to add to a Zircon suite or make into a cute piece of jewelry.
