Item Description
A fairly sharp, and resonably well-formed tetragonal crystal of dark purplish-red Zircon on matrix from this relatively obscure locality in central Italy, northwest of Rome. According to mindat.org, the specimens are found in lavas on northern side of Vico Crater. The crystal measures 4 mm, and for all intents and purposes, is the only one of these specimens that I have had to offer in the auctions. If you're a Zircon collector, here's one to check off your list.
