Here we have a wonderfully beautiful and richly colored natural Zircon gem from Tanzania. Thi sattractive stone has strong orange color with a soft hint of a golden-peach overtone, and a brilliant almost metallic quality. The clarity of the stone is excellent and looks best in sunlight! The uncommon "Hexagon" cut on helps the stone glow in any kind of lighting. You can see the classic birefringence (facet doubling) that Zircon displays in the photo. Zircon is becoming more and more popular among gem collectors and jewelers/gem dealers due to the fact that it occurs in a wide range of colors, plus it has a notably high refractive index and fire. It's important to note that Zircon is sometimes confused with Cubic Zirconia, which is a lab-grown Diamond simulant, whereas Zircon is a completely NATURAL silicate mineral. This stone will make an excellent center gem in jewelry, and will look fabulous in white gold!
