Item Description
A beautiful "Asscher" cut Zircon from Tanzania. The stone has a wonderful light golden-peach hue, and a brilliant almost metallic quality. The clarity of the stone is excellent, with no eye-visible inclusions I can find. You can see the classic birefringence (facet doubling) that Zircon displays in the photo. Zircon is becoming more and more popular among gem collectors and jewelers/gem dealers due to the fact that it occurs in a wide range of colors, plus it has a notably high refractive index and fire, and it's fairly hard and durable material as wll. It's important to note that Zircon is sometimes confused with Cubic Zirconia, which is a lab-grown Diamond simulant, whereas Zircon is a completely natural silicate mineral. This stone would look fabulous in white gold!
