Item Description
Zircons are found from many localities around the world, in a wide variety of colors. Some of the most well-known and finest quality faceted Zircons are those from Sri Lanka. This is a fine quality, beautiful light honey-gold colored gem with an "Oval" cut, and nearly eye-clean clarity. You do not see many of these gems on the market these days, and a stone like this can help to complete any Zircon suite with the distinctive color. The word Zircon comes from the Arabic/Persian word "zargun" / "zarkun", meaning golden-colored or vermillion. It's likely that the original gems which were referred to as zircons thousands of years ago could have included any golden-hued stones, like Garnet.
