Item Description
The famed Zircons from Seiland Island are among the most well-known, classic and excellent examples of the species ever found. There is a good sized nepheline syenite dike where these crystals have been found for a few decades. This piece is a beautiful and showy matrix display specimen featuring a pair of rather sharp, well-formed, lustrous, prismatic tetragonal crystals of Zircon measuring up to 1.4 cm sitting on black "Biotite" Mica matrix. The crystals are translucent when backlit, with a deep reddish-brown hue. No damage that I can see, and the crystals are NOT repaired, which is significant, as they often can "pop" out of the matrix from
