Item Description
A classic combination specimen featuring bright yellow Zippeite, rare hydrated potassium uranium hydroxy sulfate associated with minor amount of electric green Johannite from the famous Happy Jack Uranium Mine in White Canyon. For reference, the label says that the yellow mineral is Zippeite, but it could be natrozippeite as they are the same color and crystal habit, and virtually impossible to differentiate visually. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#2122). PLEASE NOTE: The label accompanying this piece states that the piece is from Colorado instead of Utah, a simple typo, as the rest of the locality information is correct. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
