A classic, large, impressive, old-time specimen of consisting of a thick, dense, semi-metallic, bronze-grey colored, mass of bladed crystals of "Zinnwaldite" Mica from Zinnwald / Cinovec - the type locality for the material dating back to 1845. This locality literally sits on the border of Germany and the Czech Republic. It is important to note that Zinnwaldite was once a valid species, but it now defined as a series between Siderophyllite and Polylithionite. This famous tin locality has produced some of the most iconic "old world" minerals extant, and are highly prized by many collectors. Certainly one of the largest examples of the material that we've ever had to offer. The piece comes with a fantastic hand-written label from the Museum Regni Bohemiae (National Museum {Prague}) along with a classic label from noted Czech/Slovak mineral expert, Josef Vajdak of Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value.
