Item Description
An incredibly historic specimen of the famous old Zinkenite specimens from Harz, Germany (possibly from the type locality for the species at the Graf Jost-Christian Mine in Wolfsberg). This piece comes with a classic old label from Isaac Walker that dates it to 1840! It features beautiful metallic grey "needles" of Zinkenite on both sides of the host rock matrix. There is even a bit of blue iridescence here and there to give the piece a bit of color. If you collect sulfosalts, German classics or old historic European specimens, don't miss out on this beautifuly and rare example dating back to the 1800s. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5265). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
