Zinkenite (rare)

Please note, this piece was labeled as coming from Barcellonette, which is a neighboring region of the Saint-Pons area, but not the actual locality. This is a fine thumbnail specimen of this rare lead antimony sulfosalt. The specimens from Saint-Pons are among the finest examples known outside of Oruro, Bolivia. They typically are smaller than their Bolivian counterparts, but fine quality. This piece hosts a 1.2 cm "spray" of brilliant, silvery-grey colored "needles" of Zinkenite with Quartz on matrix. Great quality, NOT a micro, you can clearly see the crystals with the naked eye. A very worthwhile piece to add to a rarities collection or a suite of sulfides / sulfosalts.
