Zinkenite on Pyrite (ex Brian Kosnar Collection)

Item Description

A great association specimen from the famous San Jose mine. These specimens came out in 2006, and are among some of my favorite "redent finds" from Bolivia. This piece is one of the better matrix specimen of this hard to find association to come out. It features several rare, prismatic, silvery-grey "needles" of Zinkenite which are sitting atop highly lustrous, modified cubic/pyritohedral crystals on Pyrite. The final touch to this specimen is associated micro, brown color Cassiterite with some minor pale yellow Cervantite. There were only a handful of these specimens on matrix, and this one comes directly from Brian Kosnar's personal Bolivian collection. Valued at $400.
