Zincolibethenite (rare) on Hemimorphite

Item Description

A really wonderful cabinet sized specimen of this limited, high quality and beautiful material from the Palabanda Quarries in Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville). While this is technically a cabinet sized piece, it's interest lies at the micro level as it features beautiful aggregates of the rare copper zinc hydroxy phosphate Zincolibethenite. These pieces first showed up in 2020, from the Palabanda Quarries, and they were short-lived, as we really haven't seen others in the last couple years. This piece hosts dozens of intense blue-green colored Zincolibethenite groups, sitting on pale blue Hemimorphite on matrix. You can see the Zincolibethenites with the naked eye, but they look beautiful up close, and we've provided some micro photos to better show the quality. A very attractive and fine quality example of these fantastic specimens.
