Zincite & Franklinite w/ Willemite (Gerstmann Museum & Cook Coll.)

Sections of two large, lustrous, blood-red to dark red Zincite crystals dramatically cover one end of this impressive large combination from famous Franklin. The striking large section is 8.0 cm long and the blood-red areas are translucent, adding striking colorful flash. The sculptural matrix is massive to granular Franklinite embedded with Zincite fragments and the opposite end hosts a rich patch of tan Willemite crystal sections. Neon-green Willemite fluroescence. This exeptional large piece comes with a Gerstmann's label, well-known Franklin collectors and dealer (who called his showroom a museum with good reason), dating from the early 1960s to 1980. Ex Cook Collection. We feel very lucky to have picked up the large collection of Bill and Anne Cook of Cleveland, recently. It is a tribute to their long efforts, how many interesting minerals and old localities were preserved and carefully labelled so you can see them now. Bill and Anne collected for at least 60 years. Hefty rich zinc ore at 1081 grams or 2.4 pounds mass. Classic, older and very showy large Franklin combination material with large Zincite crystal sections.
