Item Description
RARE, pearlescent, two-toned, white with glassy, colorless edges, hexagonal, nailhead, zincian dolomite crystals to 1.8 cm are beautifully scattered on matrix crust covered with sugary, sparkly, very pastel-pink/flesh-colored dolomite. This EXCELLENT and VERY SHOWY specimen is from the famous and now-closed Tsumeb Mine. The zincian dolomite crystals are often confused with tarnowitzite or plumboan aragonite, but as you can see they have a really distinct habit. An UNUSUAL and VERY FINE rarity from the Rob Smith Collection. Valued $400-500.
