Item Description

Zaratite is a rare secondary nickel carbonate of uncertain and apparently variable composition (MINDAT). It is uncommon from the famous and extinct chromite deposits of the State Line District. World-class brucite specimens came from here in the 1800s. Beautiful, gemmy, emerald-green microcrystalline crusts cover all sides of the hefty chromite matrix. Rich and excellent old-time material from the Paterson Museum Collection. Seldom on the market, such specimens are a rarity and a historic oddity. valued $900
