Item Description
Yugawaralite is a rare Zeolite Group species. A water-clear, colorless, glassy, 2.2 x 1.9 cm, tabular prism is aesthetically set in the sculptural vug in basalt lined with botryoidal snow-white Gyrolite. The crystal has a nice, sharp wedge termination. The world's finest examples of this rare species come from the famed, extinct Malad Quarry near Mumbai (Bombay), which closed around 1990s, due to population growth. One end of the crystal is broken, but this remains a showy and highly representative example of this rare species in combination. Ex Shields Flynn Collection.
