Item Description
Yellow wavellite is VERY RARE from any of the well-known Arkansas localites for the species. All others are various shades of green. A small find in the early 1970s from construction at the locality produced the pieces. Nubby yellow botryoids and botryoid sections, to about 1.5 cm, line and fill several vugs in the sculptural large matrix of quartz crystal sections and massive quartz. Broken botryoids, to 1.5 cm, reveal the radial growth of the glassy, chatoyant, yellow acicular crystals, adding much character and interest. Ex Al Kidwell Collection and obtained from well-known Arkansas field collector and collector, Henry DeLinde in 1980. DeLinde owned the mine! Very rare, seldom on the market and highly desirable yellow Arkansas wavellite. A truly rare and important USA locality specimen!
