Yellow Opal (rare locality)

Going back a few years ago, there was an exciting new discovery of beautiful gem quality yellow Opal in Mali. This particular hue is rarely seen in Opal from almost anywhere. I would classify these gems as Fire Opal, with a slight jelly appearance. The majority of the material I've seen has been somewhat milky, but this stone is a higher quality, as it's quite gemmy and glows with color. If any of you remember the vibrant yellow Opal gems that we've offered from Idaho years ago, this stone from Mali is quite similar in terms of color and clarity. This "Round Brilliant" cut gem has a gorgeous sunshine yellow hue, with a very slight greenish overtone.
