Item Description
A few years ago, there was an unlikely and exciting discovery of beautiful gem quality yellow Opal in Mali. These stones show a vivid yellow color, and this particular hue is rarely seen in Opal from most world localities/ I would classify these gems as Fire Opal, with a slight jelly appearance. The majority of the material I've seen has been somewhat milky, but this still is still gemmy and glows with color. If any of you remember the vibrant yellow Opal gems that we've offered from Idaho years ago, this stone from Mali is quite similar in terms of color and clarity. This "Oval" Brilliant" cut gem has a gorgeous sunshine yellow hue, with a very slight greenish overtone. If you collect Opals, or you're simply a fan of gems from unusual locales, don't miss out on this one, as it's one of only a handful we have to offer.
