Densely intergrown, rich golden-yellow gemmy fluorite cubes, to 2.4 cm, with silky luster faces form a RARE and sculptural large plate from the famous Okorusu Mine. The scattered purple edge phantoms add character and contrast. The cubes have beautiful golden glow, when backlit. Purple fluorescence. "Yellow fluorite is rare from Okorusu, and the type that has purple corners on the edges is even rarer." (See Page 394 in the fine 2018 Mineralogical Record article, Vol. 49, No. 3). The extinct mine (closed in 2014) is best known for gorgeous, purple, blue and green cubes. The bit of noted crystal bruising is certainly only a modest detraction to this very rich, impressive and RARE large plate. Mass is 1951 grams or 4.3 pounds. Ex Kurt Hefendehl Collection.
