Item Description

One of the great classics from Tiger are the beautiful Wulfenites with their distinctive incredibly thin tabular habit and glowing orange color. This showy miniature display specimen hosts some gorgeous, sharp, lustrous, wonderful orange color tabular "window panes" of Wulfenite measuring up to 8 mm sitting atop a layer of wonderfully contrasting soft blue-green colored Willemite. Upon close inspection I can see many small colorless rhombs of what is most likely Smithsonite. This is a classic association from Tiger, and the crystals are really fun to view under high magnification. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10774). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
