Wulfenite with Quartz (rare combo)

This Wulfenite coated with sparkly quartz on one side is one of those rare African combination specimens that is a classic to some degree, among people who see them in books on African minerals - but at the same time they are just too rare to see much of, in person. This is a really displayable miniature featuring a robust, thick, orange-yellow colorzoned wulfenite 2 cm on edge, perched cutely in matrix. One side, and the top of the other side, has a thin sub-millimeter coating of tiny tiny quartz druses, that gives the wulfenite a unique sparkle. It is truly beautiful. When backlit, the crystal glows a more orangey color, with yellow highlights. Interestingly, some of these fat crystals like this have zones inside large enough to use as gem rough and have yielded fine cut wulfenite gems.
