Item Description
The large crystal here is 3.2 cm, and FAT, for a wulfenite from any locality. But it is a rare yellow wulfenite from the Mfouti Mine, worked in the late 1960s I am told. Very few specimens turn up on the market and only from old collections. This is an interesting piece in that it is both large and has associated matrix - something not often seen. In fact, I cannot recall the last ncie matrix MFouti wulfenite I have seen. It has been some time. The contrast of the sparkling white quartz on yellow wulfenite is very interesting and unusual - again, I think unique to this locality. It is difficult to put a value on such a rare locality wulfenite, but for impactful size and color alone aside from any historical value, the piece should be worth $2500-3000, with the history a nd rare locality as a bonus some might see adding to the valuation as well.
