Wulfenite with green Mimetite on Calcite

Item Description

Here we have a very colorful and contrasting piece from Los Lamentos with with a trio of species: Wulfenite, Mimetite and Calcite. The blocky, rectangular, butterscotch-orange Wulfenite crystals from 3 to 8 mm in size with sharp edges and lustrous faces. The Mimetite displays two habits: tight clusters of prismatic, 1 mm, bright green crystals and botryoidal aggregates from 3 to 5 mm across that have the same color. Both of these minerals are situated on an ideally contrasting substrate composed of a wealth of white, lustrous, tightly grouped, small Calcite rhombs that cover the inside of the orange-brown "limonite" vug. It's a very colorful piece and unusual to have all three of these species on the same piece from this locality.
