Item Description

A RARE association specimen from the world-famous locality featuring small crystals of orange Wulfenite which is fairly common from Ojuela, but the rare part comes in the form of an association of "Endlichite" which is actually Vanadinite (var: Arsenatian). Additionally, the label goes on to say that there is associated Mimetite on the piece as well. Not mentioned are the small cubes of purple Fluorite that can be seen under magnification. I honestly can't find a piece of from Ojuela with this association on any database, but it's definitely and older piece and might have come from a limited. Now with that said, the piece could be mislabeled and it might actually be from Los Lamentos, so please keep this in mind when bidding. This specimen comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. You can read Willard's bio on the Mineralogical Record website here ( http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1528 ). The piece comes with a hand written label from Wulff that simply says "Wulfenite + Endlichite + Mim, Mapimi".
