Wulfenite with Descloizite

A striking, old Los Lamentos specimen, with a HUGE crystal that is 3.3 cm on edge. The yellow-orange color is appealing and the 'sandwich' habit is classic for the locality. The intergrown, smaller Wulfies add a great deal to the aesthetics and minerals interest, especially the interpenetrating crystal, and all rest on a bed of fine Descloizite and Wulfenite. This specimen, with its excepionally large main crystal, is typical of a well-known pocket that was found about 5 decades ago in the early 1970s. There is one corner on the back that is missing, but this detracts not at all from the presentation side, which is excellent and attractive, with significant amounts of both mineral and visual interest. From the extensive collection of Bob Reynolds, who cherished both minerals and fossils as he collected. Bob is a prolific author and has had several curating positions in museums.
