Item Description

Sharp, colorful, and well-formed, these pyramidal, reddish-orange Wulfenite crystals are from Cuchillo Parado in famous Los Lamentos. The lustrous Wulfies range up to 5 mm, and they are nearly damage free, with only a few broken crystals, as to be expected. The attractive clusters of crystals are distributed perfectly across the matrix, creating both beauty and balance for this small cab. The white, mm-size Calcite rhombs, which add both contrast and interest, have a mild, white fluorescence. This specimen comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998), a prominent Colorado Springs figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936, and you can read his bio on the Mineralogical Record website. The aesthetics of this Los Lamentos combination piece are quite fine. valued $950-1250
