Item Description
An unusual specimen from the famous Glove Mine in Arizona. This piece came to us labeled as being a Wulfenite, and this mine is certainly best known for its unique Wulfenite specimens. Another label on the side of the box indicates that the crystals are possibly Vanadinite, but when you look at the close up photos, you can tell that they are prismatic tetragonal in habit, so they can't be Vanadinite. The matrix has greenish-brown Smithsonite and an unknown black mineral, that could be Pyrolusite. We've photographed the crystals under high magnification to show their quality, From the collection of Harold Urish, who self collected the piece on the 200 Foot Level of the Glove Mine on July 29, 1995.
