Item Description

This is a beautiful toenail size specimen of this classic material. This piece consists of a group of HIGHLY lustrous, sharp, tabular, translucent vibrant red-orange or bronze-orange crystals of Wulfenite featuring the rarely seen and highly sought after "stop sign" habit! Typically Wulfenite crystals are found as flattened square plates, but the specimens from the Red Cloud sometimes formed these attractive, modified "cut corner" tabular crystals creating this hard to find eight sided form. This specimen is in great shape and the color is superb. A fine specimen from one of the single most important localities in the Western United States. Considering that this locality has been completely buried and never will be mined again, these specimens are commanding a premium nowadays. These "stop sign" habit crystals are exceedingly rare for this mine (or any other mine for that matter). Valued at $1200 retail.
