Item Description
Lustrous, caramel-colored wulfenite crystals to 9 mm cover the sculptural CABINET matrix on this dramatic and rich specimen from Los Lamentos. RARE for the locale, as all of the prisms have BEVELED edges rather than the normally-seen flat edges! We have never seen another like this, on close inspection. Part of the matrix is also the complimentary snow-white ( which we believe is mammilary hemimorphite, as the mineral is harder and denser than calcite). Old material from the 60s or older. Ex University of Texas at Austin Barron Collection (Colonel Barron was a well-known El Paso dealer and his collection and dealer stock were gifted to UT in the mid 1960s after his death) and R. Wallace Knapp Collection. Value of such a rarity?? A must for the species or locality collector.
