Wulfenite (rare locality specimen) (ex Bob Reynolds Collection)

Item Description

A rarely seen specimen of Wulfenite from the Eureka Mining District in Nevada featuring a notably thick, well-formed, rich orange colored tabular crystal measuring 1.1 cm on gossan matrix. The crystal has smooth, well-formed, lustrous faces. A few smaller accenting Wulfenites can be seen on the piece as well. The piece has a saw mark on one side, but it's not visible when the piece is displayed. If you collect Wulfenites or minerals of the Western United States, don't miss out on this attractive and fine quality example from an area where display specimens of Wulfenite are seldom seen. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
