Item Description
Here we have a fine quality, very hard to find, display specimen featuring pyramidal Wulfenite crystals from the lesser-known Aurora Mine in Chihuahua, Mexico. A few of the Wulfenites are doubly-terminated and the largest crystal measures 1.3 cm long. The color is an enchanting rich reddish-orange hue. Minor white Calcite makes for a nice association. Very little damage. These are rare and highly prized by Mexican mineral collectors. These are rare on the market, and a must have for any fan of Wulfenites, secondary ore minerals, or Mexican localities. This is old material, dating back to the 1960s, and will almost certainly never be seen again. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds (#RRO882). Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
