Wulfenite (rare locality)

Item Description

A rich specimen of sparkling, delicate, intergrown, and lustrous yellow-orange Wulfenite crystals from the very rare locality at Darwin. Many Darwin specimens are old material, with this mining district producing in the early to mid 1900s, though there was some personal collecting done in the 1970's (and we believe that Bob selfcollected this and most of the rest of the Darwin material we will be selling, as he was a prolific field collector there). Up to 3 mm in size and solid enough to ship around the world, we seldom see rich Darwin plates become available, not only because of their small numbers but the delicate nature of these beauties, as well. From the extensive collection of Bob Reynolds, who cherished both minerals and fossils as he collected. Bob is a prolific author and has had several curating positions in museums.
