Item Description

No this is not from the more famous Defiance Mine in Arizona, but rather one of several mines incorporated into the Darwin Mine Group, formerly owned by the Anaconda Corporation and operated in the 1940s-1950s. This piece has all the color and quality that one would expect from an Arizona Wulfenite, but it's much more valuable due to the fact that it's from Darwin. Dozens of very thin, electric glowing orange colored, square "blades" of Wulfenite measuring up to 5 mm are scattered over the display face of this attractive small cabinet specimen. Many of the crystals are quite gemmy when you view them up close, and the color is just gorgeous in person. Minimal damage, which is to be expected with this kind of material, but still really good quality and very attractive in person. A must have for any Wulfenite collector or a great piece to fill a slot in your suite of a California minerals. Priced at $950 in the inventory. The specimen comes with an old label from Josef Vajdak, validating its origin.
