Item Description
Glassy yellow wulfenite windowpanes, to 5 mm, are richly clustered in numerous vugs on the vuggy quartz-rich gossan matrix on this VERY RARE and RICH small cabinet from an unknown mine 9 miles northeast of Goffs, California. This long extinct W-Au-Cu mining area in the Piute Range was intermittently active from the 1890s to 1940s, with the most productive period being 1904 to 1915 (mindat). Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. A MUST for the wulfenite or locality collector.
