Wulfenite (rare)

While Wulfenite as a species is not considered rare, faceted gems are certainly rare due to the fact that most crystals are not gemmy or thick enough to yield a decent stone. This stone is labeled only as coming from Mexico, so it's hard to say for certain where it originated, but it's still a very attractive little stone for anybody interested in rare gems. This "round" cut stone is essentially colorless, and only has slight inclusions. Wulfenite has a notably high refractive index which is a term that describes how fast light travels through the material, and allows the gems to reflect and return light from a much wider range of angles. For reference, the refractive index of Wulfenite is just below Diamond!
