Wulfenite on Mimetite (ex Bob Reynolds Collection)

A wonderful display specimen of these fairly new Wulfenite and Mimetite specimens from the famous Ojuela Mine in Mexico. This full-sized miniature features attractive, thick, tabular, butterscotch colored Wulfenite crystals measuring up to 1.3 cm which are sitting atop velvety dark green botryoidal Mimetite on limonite matrix from the classic locality at Mapimi. The Wulfenites are very lustrous and sharp, and most of them are undamaged, save the crystals along the periphery where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. These pieces are now not nearly as common on the market as they were a few years ago. Priced in our inventory at $950. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds who passed in August of 2020. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
