Wulfenite on Mimetite

Item Description

From the famous San Francisco mine in Mexico, this is a very fine combination piece consisting of Wulfenite on a field of tiny Mimetite crystals. The yellow-orange Wulfenites vary from the well-known, gemmy windowpanes to translucent crystals that are considerably thicker. In all cases the luster is superb, with the largest Wulfenite being 1.3 cm on edge. This miniature has terrific aesthetics, and it is from the finds of the early '70s. #6661 in Kay's collection, she acquired this in 1972, soon after it was mined.
