Item Description

Wulfenite crystals from this well-known copper mine are tiny, but they are so sharp and gemmy. This impressive and sculptural combination is peppered with sharp, gemmy, golden-yellow, bipyramidal wulfenite crystals. The striking 5 mm crystal is larger than you normally see from here. The wulfies rest on a nifty convex crust of banded goethite. The concave under side shows the banding and glorious iridescence of the scalloped goethite. These were recovered in about 1985, with very little since (MINDAT). The piece displays well from either side. Exceptional material for the species and locality.
