Item Description

Galena specimens are extremely rare from the famous Red Cloud Mine. Rounded and corroded massive galena forms the matrix on this large piece. A very gemmy, 8 mm, orange-red, wulfenite crystal is well-placed in the center with a multitude of smaller wulfies noted on the front and bottom of the piece. The wulfies look like 1960s to 80s material. This is perhaps a unique combination specimen from this renowned locale. Ex Schlichter Collection. Hefty lead ore at 598 grams.
