Wulfenite on Dolomite (Bob Reynolds Coll.)

Item Description

A prominent 1.7 x 1.3 x 1.0 cm blocky wulfenite crystal dominates this very showy and colorful combination from famed Los Lamentos. Rich caramel color, high lustre, translucence, a smooth termination face with contrasting rippled prism faces characterize this interesting crystal. The crystal isolation with the scattered smaller wulfies on the sawed matrix plate covered with starkly contrasting snow-white bladed dolomite rhombs makes for a dramatic and aesthetic small cabinet combination. Note the difference in color from shadowed light angled into the crystal versus direct strong light which makes it almost metallic. A gentle corner bruise to the large crystal edge is certainly only a minimal detraction. See the 2003 Mineralogical Record Mexico III Speical Issue, Vol. 34, No. 6.
