Wulfenite on Dolomite

Classic for the famous Touissit area of Morocco, this is an excellent cluster of well-formed Wulfenites on chip-like sections of Dolomite crust. Evenly distributed, the lustrous, yellow Wulfenites create multiple good viewing angles for this miniature. Up to 1.1 cm in size, the crystals have broad, flat terminations and wide beveled edges that simply sing 'Morocco' in addition to the classic butterscotch color. As with most Wulfenites, there is some edgewear, but the aesthetics are so nice that this bit of wear is but a small part of the equation and trivial in this case. As an added and unexpected bonus, there must be traces of manganese in the Dolomite, for under UV light is fluoresces a fine shade of pink. Wulfenites of this quality came out in the late 1970's to early 80s.
