Wulfenite on Dolomite

Attractive and richly covered specimen of sharp, bright Wulfenite crystals from the Errachidia Province in Morocco. Bright-yellow and lustrous, the pillow-shape form of these crystals is classic. These range to 1.1 cm in size, with most averaging 6-7 mm, and the pleasing yellow color helps the crystals seem to visually jump off the matrix. Looking closely, you will see that many of the crystals have a diamond-shaped phantom in the core which adds a fascination and allure that was definitely unexpected, but very welcome. Some crystals show some damage among the crowd, which is so typical for the species given their delicate nature, but that does not take away from the interesting nature and engaging aesthetic of this Wulfenite specimen, which is good for the location and a different color anyways than most other localities produce.
